Grizzled

Awesome for Patrice. Her signature weakness becomes trivial once you upgrade it to "always prepared"(still okay if you don't). The "monster" subtype trait is frequent enough for it not to be a dead draw. You can slam the extradimensional trait to have a juicy +5 on that particular test, or be content enough with +3 and put "humanoid" or "terror" on it to help your friends to deal with those pesky cultists/deep ones/frozen in fear.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Always Prepared wouldn't trigger with Patrice's weakness because that is not an encounter card. — celtics345 · 1
For purpose of Always Prepared, it counts; enemies and treacheries are encounter cards the second they leave the deck. Hidden treacheries are def still in play after that, not sure about hidden enemies. — Lailah · 1
Analysis

Analysis could cancel . Of course, there are many cards to avoid before reveal the chaos token in the game. There are very limited way after reveal, such as Eucatastrophe and Nightmare Bauble, whose faction is survivor and whose level is 3. Did you remember Butterfly Effect? With Butterfly Effect + Analysis, we can cancel only with 1xp combo. Now, canceling the after revealed is not exculsive for survivor!

Rule note: "when" has time priority compared with "after", so we can resolve the effect of Analysis even if we commit Analysis using Butterfly Effect. (my rule interpretation)

This Review is only focused on the inclusion of "Charm cards level 0-4".

Charm cards level 0-4 includes (at the time of writing) every Charm card in the game... Except of course Zoey's Cross.

Some of the more interesting options this gives her include:

-Upgrading from Holy Rosary into Holy Rosary.

-Being able to Research Dream Diary.

-Every variant of Grisly Totem.

-"Lucky" Penny

-Nightmare Bauble

Given the large amount of Accessory Charm cards, I don't think access to off-class Charm cards is of much use without running Relic Hunter or The Hierophant.

The only Charm cards that are both off-class and not Accessories are Obsidian Bracelet and Dream Diary (at time of writing).

Although this does allow for upgrading Lucky Cigarette Case, Dream Diary, Grisly Totem, Cherished Keepsake, Rabbit's Foot, and Holy Rosary via Down the Rabbit Hole.

While it doesn't particularly play with her ability, Dream Diary allows her to take any test at 5+ once per turn. Pretty excellent use of a handslot if you aren't determined to use all the new Doom assets. — housh · 171
At a Crossroads

"...then discards 1 card at random from their hand." should let you use the action you take to mitigate the chance of discarding important card, such as just play it as that action, or take skill tests to commit valuable skill cards. Random discard can also hit weakness on hand, so you can play the other card to increase the chance.

Thats a really good point. At a Crossroads just gets better and better :P — NarkasisBroon · 10
Ohhhh... that's neat. If you have a weakness in hand (Patrice's Watcher, one the Tarot weaknesses, etc), and you manage to play / commit all other cards in your hand during said bonus action, you can "randomly" discard the weakness, guaranteed... — DrOGM · 25
"Not without a fight!"

Some reviews here don't do justice to this card. Allow me to tell you why you should pick it.

If you intend to fight or evade, it will always give you or with the added option of giving in the mythos phase if you are already engaged with your intentions.

It's a target for Resourceful unlike the likes of Overpower, Manual Dexterity, Guts, Unexpected Courage etc. Having Resourceful in your hand and no target for it in your discard pile is not fun.

It will not recycle itself like some of the aforementioned cards or be committed to a test (why would a fighter mingle with intellect in the first place?) but still, it is versatile and it might give you three icons. It happens! (It might give four icons but I do not wish that for the light-hearted)

It's a target for True Survivor unlike let's say Overpower.

It enables both Sea Change Harpoon and Silas's Net for Silas Marsh. It is actually a great card for Silas when taking into account all of the above and adding Eucatastrophe to the mix. (Eucatastrophe and Resourcefull and "Not without a fight" is a more than decent response to a crucial test)

This card has its uses. You cannot look at it in your hand and wish you had Unexpected Courage instead. It’s like looking at Able Bodied or Manual Dexterity in your hand and wishing you had Unexpected Courage. It’s a wrong way to look at it. This card is like “I am not amazing but I will not let you discredit me, "Not without a fight!"
