Introduction

This deck is designed for a solo run, or a two player game. In order for it to work in 3 or 4 player I suggest picking another investigator, or dropping Old Keyring and Belly of the Beast for Slip Away and either Unexpected Courage or, if you have no one with sanity healing "You handle this one!".

This deck is focused on quickly opening up the map in any player count higher than 1, so that others can play effectively.

Card choice

Most of the cards are self-explanatory but I'll touch on some odd choices.

  1. "Look what I found!" combos with old key-ring to snag clues at 4 shroud locations. Though we can use it to get 2 clues on any location in solo if such a location exists.

  2. Live and Learn is there to combo with either "Look what I found!" or for Take Heart turns. Can be replaced by Breaking and Entering, or Scrounge for Supplies for more clue power.

  3. Old Keyring is essentially test-less, as regardless of the difficulty we only have to dodge the autofail. Combined with "Look what I found!" we are test-less, for 6-8 clues. Flashlight is an option in solo, but with Resourceful is generally slightly worse.

  4. Waylay is here to counter Hoods or slap high hp monsters. We don't need it per se with "I'm done runnin'!", but it is way better to use Waylay to drop Hoods.

  5. Cheap Shot hits for 2 damage with our ability. It's used to take out 2 or 3 health mobs. 3 health monsters live but will die to our evade next turn without being able to fight back.

Playing with others

If you aren't using this deck solo you MUST replace Cheap Shot under the following two situations.

  • If you are playing with a fighter, you need to compensate with more clooving so grab Breaking and Entering or Pilfer (Pilfer costs a ton so start with breaking and entering).

  • If you are playing with another rogue or all rounder, Slip Away is better as it buys a lot of time before HAVING to deal with the monster with an efficient card.

Upgrades

Check the side deck for recommended (core) upgrades

1 - Backpack could be fun to ensure we have more chances to get our board set-up.Emergency Cache or Easy Mark, play the first scenario and see how income felt, as most upgrades do not increase the resource cost of the deck. I would recommend Drawing Thin instead.

2 - Simple stuff like upgrading Lucky!, Scrounge for Supplies (replace Live and Learn), "Look what I found!", Peter Sylvestre, Survival Instinct (for Manual Dexterity) are always solid choices, just not very fun.

3 - Ornate Bow, because sometimes you think to yourself, you know what? "I'm done runnin'!".

Replace Waylay if your picking up Ornate bow.
