Intro
I absolutely love Preston Fairmont as investigator in Solo/Multiplayer, his 1111 Statline isnt really amazing, but his Family Inheritance card boosts his Resources so good, that he even can outrange allot of investigators.
0 Upgrade (25 exp.):
- Charon's Obol (2); gives you allot Exp.
- Streetwise (3); boosts and
- Flashlight Newspaper (2); I don't really like the normal Newspaper, because it has its bonus only with no clues. The upgraded version has the advantage of getting 2 clues
- Well Connected High Roller (2); normally a better boost
- Flashlight Newspaper (2); see skill tests
- Unexpected Courage Cornered (2); same boost just a little more stable
- 1th Swift Reflexes Ace in the Hole (6); very good action boost
0 Later (18exp.):
- Dig Deep Dig Deep (1); less cost, can also be used for a skill test
- Leo De Luca Leo De Luca (1); less cost
- 2nd Swift Reflexes The Gold Pocket Watch (8); explained later
- Another Day, Another Dollar (3); it is a nice thing to have 7/9 Resources for Streetwise (3)
0 How can he pass skill tests?
Money Talks and Well Connected use your Resources for a skill tests. Rise to the Occasion nearly always gives you a 3. Unexpected Courage and later Cornered (2) give you plus 2. And note that Cornered (2) gives you also gives you a plus with Money Talks. Oh, and Trial by Fire boosts of 4 for a hole round.
is Preston Fairmont big weakness, so if you have no cards in your hand use You handle this own. If Dig Deep is in play you can spend Resources. Your Rise to the Occasion and Unexpected Courage give you a 3/4 boost. I know that's not perfect, but it is the best it can do.
Flashlight lowers the shroud by 2, what isn't enough for a normal investigation, but with Streetwise (3) and all the stuff is enough for the most shrouds. Then "Look what I found!" and Intel Report give you two clues.
Fire Axe can boost your up to 7. So it is important that you put it in play asap.
Swift Reflexes, Dig Deep and later Streetwise (3)
0 Drawing Heart
Like in allot of other decks this deck also uses the Drawing Thin & Take Heart combo. In this deck I always use it to get all the hand cards in play. I was thinking about Try and Try Again (1), but ... yeah.
0 Action
Leo De Luca and Swift Reflexes do the part of the actions quite good, but later you have Ace in the Hole (3) and The Gold Pocket Watch (4). I absolutely love those cards, both let you repeat the Investigator-Phase. That is a huge advantage for the later scenarios and the fight against the Scenario-Boss.
0 Money or no money
Some Preston Fairmont decks want you to use Dark Horse and give away all your Resources to boost, but this version of the deck lets wants you to stack the Resources for Well Connected, Money Talks and his very annoying weakness. Lodge "Debts" can hit you in a very unfortunate moment so insure yourself to have at least 4 Resources for it (+4 with Family Inheritance and another +2 Drawing Thin).
