The idea of the deck is to have a Fire Axe and Dark Horse in play. Fire Axe helps emptying ressources when needed.

At the end of the turn you can easily skip taking the ressource (thanks to Dark Horse) provided you have a Emergency Cache in hand or the discard pile (Wendy's Amulet)

The Stray Cat might help saving some time waiting for Peter Sylvestre to show up. The Stray Cat helps also using the Sneak Attack or Pickpocketing effects (either managing enemy or drawing cards)

Peter Sylvestre helps managing dealt horrors but also provide an extra bonus to boost success of Backstab

Events selected helps to investigate ("Look what I found!"), manage enemy (Backstab, Sneak Attack), manage resources (Emergency Cache) and manage skill tests (Lucky!). When Wendy's Treachery is out of the game and Wendy's Amulet is played, those events can then be recycled.

You've obviously made this deck using solely cards from Core Set and Dunwich, which is very restricting. The problem you're going to find though is that very few of these cards have any synergy with Dark Horse. I love Dark Horse builds, they're a lot of fun and can be really powerful, but you do kind of need to build your deck around them. It can be tricky to do that with Wendy because one of her core strengths is playing events, many of which are quite expensive. You're not going to be in position to play any of them if you also want to benefit from Dark Horse. Look What I found costs 2, as does Sneak Attack. Backstab costs 3. You need to be carrying those resources on you before you commit to using the cards, which means that Dark Horse will rarely if ever be in play. The idea that you can just hold a copy of Emergency Cache for this purpose is impractical, and also inefficient because it costs an additional action and in many cases wouldn't work anyway (LWIF needs to be played instantly after you fail a test, Backstab can only be played while engaged with an enemy so you'd have to take an attack of opportunity to do it).

There are ways to play Dark Horse Wendy (I'd recommend searching for some of the published decks on here), but it needs more careful planning. With these cards you're better off not using it at all.

That's true, I've only used the cards from my current limited collection (2 core set, Dunwich without the 3 first packs). I'm currently still learning (only playing for a month) ;-) Thanks for the review, I'll see how my next plays will go with this deck and will most probably end up with the same conclusions.

One of the Dunwich cards that I quite like for a Dark Horse Wendy build is Watch This. It's kind of counterintuitive, but it does have great synergy with Fire Axe in the right circumstances. If you have Dark Horse and Fire Axe in play then you can sit on 3 resources which lets you potentially play your events, but what you can also do is use it or fighting. Take a swing with the axe using 2 of your resources and also commit Watch This, spending your final resource. This gives you a +5 boost to the initial attack and also triggers Dark Horse, making it a +6 boost overall. If it succeeds you get 2 resources back, so you can then fire up another swing of the axe at +5. It's kind of situational and you can't rely on it being available, but it's a nice option to have.
