Introduction/Apology
I am still an amateur at this, but I am going to make an effort to create write-ups for my decks. In other words, some of these will be good and others...not so good. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Context
This deck was designed to partner with a Joe Diamond deck for a blind playthrough of The Circle Undone on Standard difficulty. I have built this deck to function almost as a solo deck so that Diana and Joe can split up when possible.

Monsters
For dealing with monsters she has 2 Machete, 2 Shrivelling, 2 Prepared for the Worst and the Twilight Blade.

Clue Gathering
For clue gathering she has 2 Flashlight, 2 Rite of Seeking and 2 Drawn to the Flame.

The Rest
Holy Rosary is there for the willpower boost (that’s not affected by her weakness) and the horror soak. I decided to try Olive McBride. Hopefully I can use her for some horror soak and then use her ability to put the card under Diana. David Renfield provides some additional resources and can soak damage. I believe it will be very important to give Diana tons of opportunities to cancel/ignore effects so I have included 13 cards in this deck to do so. There is also 1 Emergency Cache and 2 Uncage the Soul to help her get up and running fast. Uncage the Soul has the added bonus of 2 willpower pips so you can commit it if you are in dire need. Speaking of which, I have 2 copies of Fearless and 2 copies of Steadfast to help boost those critical tests. Steadfast I think will need to be used early while I can get the full effect. Fearless doesn’t provide much power but it will heal horror which will be important since I have chosen to take 2 Arcane Research. The 14 XP saved over the campaign is too good to pass up.

Experience
Ward of Protection and Shrivelling upgrades seem like a no-brainer. After that Spirit Athame, Grotesque Statue and Counterspell look like they would fit well. Defiance and Fearless might also be good upgrades. Lastly, if I decide this needs more firepower, Shards of the Void would be a good purchase.

In my Diana deck I've also been running 2 Arcane Research, with that I highly suggest you consider St. Hubert's Key it works wonders as it puts you in range of the Desperate skill cards on Turn 1 and Diana is not at serious risk for being defeated since if she takes the 3 horror, she heals 2 and is restored to her max sanity of 7. It has been a fantastic boost to her Will and Intelligence especially in the early part of scenario.

You don't have the widest window for Steadfast with double Arcane Research. You're only starting at 12 total health and sanity. While Fearless, Deny Existence and your allies give you a little breathing room, Ward of Protection deals even more horror. I'd consider not taking the skill or reducing your Arcane Research count.

@DocLeoI thought about St. Hubert's Key but decided against it because it’s expensive and I don’t feel like I need the intellect boost. However, you make a good point about the desperate skills. Then it’s a question of what cards to swap out in order to include the desperate skills. I think Steadfast is the first to go since ideally you’d be at 10 health+sanity right away. Then do you get rid of Rite of Seeking? If you do that then I would argue that you don’t need Uncage the Soul, because your only target is Shrivelling, so you can swap that out. But then do you have an economy issue? Between David Renfield, Diana’s ability and a single copy of Emergency Cache is that enough?

@SapphireSamuraiKeep in mind that St. Hubert's Key also heals that 2 horror and gives a will boost as well as an intellect boost. It's been a boon in my plays. With David Renfield I find he's a great play and I don't run Emergency Cache. Of course with him it's all about timing so that he can be eliminated or the agenda is going to flip anyway. For a long time, I did not like David Renfield but having tried it in this deck (and not building the deck around him) it's been a great addition!

Oh and I meant to add, if I ran the key I would probably eliminate Fearless. Also, Uncage the Soul is great and I keep it. It pays for Shrivelling, it is also 2 will icons in a pinch!

Hey @SapphireSamurai just to say welcome and well done for going for write ups, whatever your level of experience!

If you use Olive McBride you lose her, right? She goes underneath Diana per her ability? Does that make her worth playing?

@zozoThanks! I’m a big fan of your podcast, especially the Think on Your Feet episodes! @MalgoxDiana’s ability is a reaction so it’s optional. I’m going to try using her until she takes a couple points of horror and then use Diana’s ability to put Olive under and get the willpower boost.

@SapphireSamuraithat makes sense! I'm tinkering with a one-off Diana build myself and trying to figure these things out
