Role
Enemy handling and clue gathering.
Strategy and Tips
- Hunt (with On the Hunt) for a murloc and arrest it with Handcuffs (Evade and Engage). You have the bonuses from Due Diligence Directive and Seek the Truth Directive for the whole game.
- Investigate with a fast event card before Fight actions to be able to commit cards to tests.
- Try to end the investigation phase at a location without clues. If you can't and you must commit something to a treachery in the mythos phase, then first get a clue with an event using the Red Tape Directive or disable the Seek the Truth Directive.
Mulligan choices
Hard mulligan for assets. The dream hand is Enchanted Blade, Alice Luxley, Ace of Swords, Flashlight, Burning the Midnight Oil
Mandatory upgrades
- Stick to the Plan - Put On the Hunt, Shortcut/Righteous Hunt and Winging It/Emergency Cache under it.
- 2 Enchanted Blade -> 2 Enchanted Blade or 2 Timeworn Brand
Optional upgrades
- 2 .45 Automatic -> 2 .45 Automatic
- Emergency Cache -> Emergency Cache - for the combo with Flashlight and Stick to the Plan
- Hallowed Mirror -> Key of Ys - the mandatory upgrades only costs 12 xp, so if you have 10 free xp to burn, buy it. It's the best asset in the game and a sanity soak, which Roland really needs.
