Fry's Inconsistent Starter Tuneup (FIST)
Many folks have noticed that the starter decks as packaged in Core 2026 are very inconsistent, and in places even incoherent, due to including just a single copy of each class card that the investigator is allowed to take, rather than placing the class cards with investigators that are best equipped to make use of them. This series of decks (FIST) is intended to upgrade the starters by moving cards around to decks where they make more sense, while still allowing you to keep five decks built at all times (in case you want to take it to a pickup game night, etc.). These decks are not intended to be the strongest possible to build out of the box, but rather, they are intended to allow you to have five ready-to-play decks where you won't constantly be getting "why is this card in my deck" questions from new players.
Joe Diamond tuneup
As packaged, Joe's deck might be great at fighting, or might be great at clueing, or just kind of OK at both, depending on what part of the deck you draw. Daniela needed to claim a good chunk of the fighting support, so I clawed back some of the raw investigation cards from Trish. There's still a single Machete in here for when you need everyone fighting; there's a decent amount of draw power, so you'll find it eventually.
Strategy
You are a clue-finding machine. Mulligan for your permanent boosts (Dorothy Simmons and Magnifying Glass) as well as Fingerprint Kit because it helps you grab those clues faster. If you already have those in your first five cards, look for Emergency Cache (more money to deploy your goodies) and Through the Cracks (emergency escape button, if you get cut off from other players who are better at fighting).

As a brand new player, I really appreciate this and will use it as my second attempt at the first scenario after being annahilated on my first playthrough.
