First, I know that the meta is two handed guns (that always give +2 strength), and Zoey only has 4 strength. But this is a babysiter deck. So I like try and kill as many enemies as I can, and ammo just won't let me... Also thanks to the taboo list, I now run .45 Automatic over Machete, but if you don't care about it, then take Machete by all means.

Second, this is based on my collection, and unfortunately I don't have The Forgotten Age (so no Survival Knife), or the Nathaniel Cho investigator starter deck (so no Stand Together, nor Safeguard). And I only tested this deck in 1 hard dificulty campaign, in which it preformed well, but it wasn't as much play testing as I wanted... In other words, this deck was planned for hard difficulty, but I'm working on getting it to expert.

As far as leveled cards go, these are my priorities:

1st scenario: Keen Eye, Physical Training -> Ace of Swords

2nd scenario: .45 Automatic / Machete (no taboo) -> Timeworn Brand

The rest can vary on campaign, or on your personal taste, but here is why I think these are the must have:

Starting in Keen Eye, the base deck's resource curve was build around having resources for this card, some exemples are taking Live and Learn over Lucky!, and "Let me handle this!" over On the Hunt or First Watch. And the reson that i think this card is the best leveled option for Zoey, is her and 4 strength, if you don't forget that you gain 1 resource at the end of each round, that means that once you draw an enamy you'll have at least 2 resources to use, for geting +1 strength untill the end of the turn... to sumarize, Keen Eye comes close to converting her into a base 5 strength, and coupled with Beat Cop and a weapon, you will be able to do your job, since you'll stand on at least 7 strength.

As far as Ace of Swords goes, I just think it's important to have multiple assets set up that give you +1 strength, and this is exactly that.

I don't think that I have to explain why would you want a Timeworn Brand in a melee deck, but in short it's the best melee in the game up to this point. On top of that i'm using Prepared for the Worst, so just having 1 of this is great.

On a side note, I tend to also get Police Badge, over Steadfast later in the campain, just to take adventage of not having ammo. And if you like this idea, fell free to go all out by geting anator one, and Relic Hunter, if you can get Key of Ys over Something Worth Fighting For too.
