I always like Wendy since the Core era, seems she always has a way to beat any problem that you throw to her.

I play her as no-to-light asset preparation and focus her on the task of explore the field and get some clues quick. This style was key in some smooth scenarios.

Things to always have in mind: -Thanks to Wendy reaction every card has an additional use, that's why some situational cards work better with her. -Failing to win, remember that even with a tentacle pull the final skill test value will be 0. That means that "Look what I found!" guarantee clue discovering shroud 2 or less (4 or less with Flashlight ).

For that, Wendy has some serious clue gathering tools:

1.- The newspaper was a card that i underestimate in the beggining but, +2 to Int really helps and the fact that stacks with flashlight and winging it is a nice plus. You want to control that bonus, so only play it if is relevant. The Scenario mechanics will make this card performance change.

2.- Flashlight , pretty self-explanatory. You can use a Lantern instead, but I really like the interaction with "Look what I found!" in shroud 4 locations.

3.-"Look what I found!" maybe my fav card in core set, just don't go crazy with it. Sometimes it's better just commiting it.

4.-Winging It, the Survivor Deduction kinda... I think is self explanatory just, try to discard it with Wendy's reaction. 1 resource for -1 shroud from hand isn't as good (unless your're in a 1 shroud location).

With 8 cards devoted to clue finding you will ussually well prepared to just start collecting but, what else you can do?

-Assisting combat, with 4 agility you can evade with ease most of enemies. Backstab will assist with elite monsters and Waylay can take care the non-elite ones (focus on hunter's or the victory ones)

-Living and Learning, that cards is almost always saved for key skills, don't just use in a failed investigation attempt for the bonus unless you really need it, most of the times is just better try again the skill check in that scenario. The best targets are Backstab and Waylay as the cost 3 resources each, Winging It from discard pile is also great target (if you really want the extra clue).

The skill selection intention is to bring extra value, with the exception of Unexpected Courage, the others skills bring you more cards to your hand.

Resourceful is a great to fech just what you need. have in mind that "Look what I found!" and Waylay can be used as "skill cards" as both features double icons. Also we're planing on take True survivor(3)

Take Heart is a great engine as sometimes we just face some dificult tests or we can force it just investigating a high shorud location. If for some reason you pull the +1 token (or elder sing if Wendy's amulet is online) and had a Winging It you can just re-roll to fail the skill test.

Well, I think i already give you an idea how i pilot this deck but what about the upgrades?

The one that i think most important is Adaptable. I don't use it as a "get the silver bullets for this scenario" ussualy, on the other hand, i treat it as a way to maximize the sinergy with experience cards or party needs:

For exaple, you just upgrade Flashlight to Lockpicks, now Lucky Cigarette Case and Scavenging seems more appealling.

The other thing that i priorize are things that improve the card advantage (Lucky(2) or True survivor(3)).
